The valves on the winches were of the early forerunner to our current range of Hydranor valves.
The valves onboard MT OKYROE was an early cooperation between Hydranor and Pusnes some 20-25 years back with all the control valves provided from Hydranor. This lead to the development of the 5MB range from Hydranor and further development resulted in the current 6MB and 9MB range of integrated valves for winch control – in total more than 35,000 units has been delivered to deck machinery around the world.

MT OKYROE was delivered in 2004, thus the valves have been in service for around 20 years in the harsh marine environment and were due for a life extension.

With the spare part kit from Servi for the control valves Hydro Titan removed the valves from the vessel, cleaned them up, replaced key components, tested and repainted the valves in their workshop before the valves were reinstalled and recommissioned onboard.
Our winch blocks are designed from scratch for marine conditions in order to perform at maximum capacity in harsh environments at sea, year after year.
Once reinstalled onboard the valves are ready for an extended service life – this is a great example how Servi manufacture hydraulic valves with focus on sustainability.
