Moulds Mortars

Molds for cubes and prisms to create standardized samples that are used in testing and quality control according to Norwegian Standard.

We supply a wide range of cement and mortar testing forms.
Plastic molds are lightweight and easy to handle, while steel molds are often more durable and can provide a better finish.

Cubes, Prism shapes/beam shapes are available in many different dimensions and for different test methods

The production of concrete cubes is an important process to ensure that the concrete is well compacted and free of air pockets. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Molding of samples

Molds: Pour the mixed mortar into standardized molds (e.g., cubes or prisms) that are clean and smeared with mold oil to facilitate removal.
Compression: Compress the mortar into the molds to remove air bubbles and ensure a smooth surface.

Removal of samples

Demolding: Carefully remove specimens from molds after 24 hours.
Curing: Place the specimens in a curing bath or humid chamber for further curing according to the standards (usually 7, 14, or 28 days).
Cleaning the molds immediately after use is important.

Hardened Mortar Testing

Compressive strength: Use a pressure test press to measure the compressive strength of the mortar samples. This is done by applying a gradually increasing load until the sample is broken.
Flexural tensile strength: For prismatic samples, perform flexural tensile strength tests by applying a load in the middle of the sample until it breaks.
