We measure crack development in concrete for several important reasons:

  • Safety: Cracks can indicate structural problems that can affect the safety of a building or structure. By monitoring cracks, we can detect and address potential hazards early.
  • Maintenance: Crack monitoring helps plan maintenance and repairs. This can prevent small problems from developing into larger and more costly damage.
  • Quality control: Measuring cracks provides information about the quality and performance of concrete over time. This is important to ensure that materials meet required standards and specifications.
