Pundit - Ultrasonic (UVP)

NDT Non-destructive test method in hardened concrete. 
  
Pundit is an instrument used to perform ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) tests on concrete structures. It measures the speed of ultrasonic waves sent through the concrete. This rate can be used to assess the homogeneity of concrete, detect cracks, cavities and other defects. 

PD 8050 is used to locate defects, cavities and objects in hardened concrete structures. tension cables, pipes and other embedded objects in concrete. A Pundit can also be used to measure the thickness of a concrete slab by detecting the back wall.  

Full, direct 2D and 3D imaging. Data is sent wirelessly to iPad with the measurements displayed. 

• A typical Pundit device consists of a transmitter and a receiver that is placed on the concrete sample. The transmitter generates ultrasonic waves, and the receiver records the time it takes for the waves to pass through the concrete.
• Pundit is a quick and efficient method that does not require drilling or destruction of the concrete structure. It provides high-resolution images and can be used on both new and existing designs.
• Pundit uses electromagnetic waves to scan beneath the surface of concrete. An antenna emits high-frequency pulses that are reflected back when they hit different materials below the surface.
• Comes complete but without iPad. This must be purchased separately. An iPad can be used for several of our NDT models of Reinforcement Finders, GPR and Pundit.
