Air pore meter

Air entrainment meters are used to determine the air content of fresh concrete.  
This is important to ensure that the concrete has the desired properties, especially in terms of frost resistance and durability.

How to use an air void tester for concrete

• Preparation: Fill the measuring container completely with fresh concrete. Compact the concrete by inserting a protractor through it 25 times evenly over the surface. Repeat this for each layer if you are filling in several layers. Finish by leveling the surface with the protractor.
• Assembly: Clean the edge of the measuring container and secure the top with the quick-release clamps.
• Filling with Water: Open both valves and fill with water through one of the valves until water comes out without air bubbles through the other valve.
• Pressure adjustment: Close the adjustment valve and pump up the pressure until the manometer pointer is approx. 10 mm past the red adjustment mark. Adjust the pressure by opening the adjustment valve carefully until the pointer is exactly above the red mark.
• Test: Close both valves. Press down the lever for approx. 20 seconds until the manometer pointer stabilizes. Read the air volume in percent directly on the manometer.
• Closing: Carefully open the valves to release the air pressure. Remove the top and empty the measuring container. 

Clean both the measuring container and the top thoroughly after use.
